چکیده

Waiting time and system time (waiting plus service time) data, adjusted for idle times when necessary, are used for estimating the parameters in GI/G/1 queues. The sampling plans presented use incomplete information on the differences between service and inter-arrival times rather than full information on service and inter-arrival times. A variation of the EM algorithm is proposed to derive parameter estimates. Specific examples are discussed and the performances of the maximum likelihood and the corresponding estimates obtained by the EM algorithm are compared via simulations.

Fuzzy Hierarchical Location-Allocation Models for Congested Systems

There exist various service systems that have hierarchical structure. In hierarchical service networks, facilities at different levels provide different types of services. For example, in health care systems, general centers provide low-level services such as primary health care services, while the specialized hospitals provide high-level services. Because of demand congestion in service networ...

Target Tracking with Unknown Maneuvers Using Adaptive Parameter Estimation in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract- Tracking a target which is sensed by a collection of randomly deployed, limited-capacity, and short-ranged sensors is a tricky problem and, yet applicable to the empirical world. In this paper, this challenge has been addressed a by introducing a nested algorithm to track a maneuvering target entering the sensor field. In the proposed nested algorithm, different modules are to fulfill...

Performance Modeling and Analysis of OFDM-TDMA Wireless Systems Based on Queueing Theory

This paper presents a model based on queueing theory where the Kernel Density Estimation Method is used in order to evaluate the performance of the transmission link in OFDM-TDMA systems. From the implemented model, it is derived multiple QoS parameter estimators. The obtained results confirm that the proposed model is efficient in describing the link performance indicators. The use of Kernel D...

Parameter Estimation of Loranz Chaotic Dynamic System Using Bees Algorithm

An important problem in nonlinear science is the unknown parameters estimation in Loranz chaotic system. Clearly, the parameter estimation for chaotic systems is a multidimensional continuous optimization problem, where the optimization goal is to minimize mean squared errors (MSEs) between real and estimated responses for a number of given samples. The Bees algorithm (BA) is a new member of me...

Drift Parameter Estimation for a Reflected Fractional Brownian Motion Based on its Local Time

We consider a drift parameter estimation problem when the state process is a reflected fractional Brownian motion (RFBM) with a nonzero drift parameter and the observation is the associated local time process. The RFBM process arises as the key approximating process for queueing systems with long range dependent and self similar input processes, where the drift parameter carries the physical me...
